Click here to sign up for Oregon Alerts! Oregon Alerts is the City's new phone alert system. By signing up here, you will receive the City of Oregon and Lucas County emergency alerts. In the event of an emergency or tornado warning, a voice or text alert will be sent to the phone number(s) you provide and/or your email address. If you add all three options phone, text, and email when you sign up you will get notified by all three.
Throughout the registration process you can choose if you want Community Alerts (alerts the City puts out manually), Weather Alerts (alerts about Flash Flood Warning, Winter Storm Watch and Warning, and Tornado Watch and Warning) or BOTH alerts. The national weather system puts out the alerts automatically. We have no control over the day and time they go out.
Within the Community and Weather alerts there are options to take off or add any specific alert. Example: If you only want to know about Winter Storm Warnings and Tornados. You can go into your profile settings and check those boxes for those specific alerts.
Last, you have the option to pick a “quiet time” a time you do not want any alerts. If you set a “quiet time” you WILL STILL RECEIVE TORNADO ALERTS but NO other alerts.
This is a free service provided by the City of Oregon, however, normal message fees may apply to your cell phone. To receive text messages to your cell phone, your cell phone must have text messaging capabilities. Notifications are dependent upon external providers (phone carrier, cell phone, email). The City of Oregon cannot guarantee notifications will be received by the intended recipient. By registering you will not receive unsolicited calls, and neither the City of Oregon, Lucas County, nor its system vendor sells the contact number database. Please check the sign up on Oregon Alerts for more information.
If you do not want a phone call, text, or email feel free to download the Everbridge App and receive PUSH NOTIFICATIONS instead.
