When are plans required to be certified by a registered engineer or architect?

Answer

Plans and associated construction documents for new construction and major alteration work for buildings and structures regulated by the Ohio Basic Building Code are required to be prepared by an Ohio registered architect or professional engineer.  Residential work may also be required to be sealed by an architect or engineer if such work is extraordinary in nature or is an alternative to the strict interpretation of the code.
