| LUC-Otter Creek Road Improvement Project |
![]() The City of Oregon has been awarded $3,000,000 in Federal transportation stimulus funds as a Priority Transportation Project through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 for reconstructing and repaving Otter Creek Road and Bay Shore Road between Corduroy Road and Wynn Road. Beginning the week of April 12, 2010, with weather permitting, a contractor will begin construction of the Otter Creek Road Improvement Project to upgrade the existing deteriorating concrete pavement with new asphalt. The project will involve the rubblization of the existing concrete pavement followed by a new asphalt overlay, full-depth pavement replacement, mill and fill asphalt replacement, installation of underdrains along the edge of pavement, roadside grading, storm sewer work, and driveway approach work. The contractor for the project is The Shelly Company, 1360 Ford St. Maumee, OH 43537. At the pre-construction meeting for this project, they were told to insure minimal inconvenience and adverse construction conditions during this project. The roadway work should be completed within approximately 180 days. The current project completion date is September 28, 2010. Due to the nature of this project some road closures will be necessary. Road closure notices will be sent out two weeks (minimum) in advance to the closure. The City of Oregon will contact the affected stakeholders individually. We ask that you avoid driving through the construction operation area as much as possible to avoid delays. The City of Oregon has hired The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc., Inc. 1800 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee, Ohio 43537 to provide a full time project representative/inspector on the job. The project representative will be available on site to address any concerns you may have during construction. For any questions or concerns regarding the overall project, please contact the Department of Public Service at (419) 698-7047. Construction plans and specifications for the project are available for review at the City of Oregon Municipal Complex at the Department of Public Service Office. |
