The City of Oregon has funds available for housing rehabilitation and emergency home repair. Maximum amounts available are $25,000(or $35,000 when addressing lead- based paint) for Private Owner Rehabilitation and $8,000 for Emergency Home Repair. EligibilityThese programs are available to existing single family homeowners who reside within the City of Oregon. Private Owner Rehabilitation assistance is available to bring properties up to residential rehabilitation standards. Home Repair assistance is available for emergency repairs that pose an immediate threat to the health and safety of the occupants. Following are some items that can be done with program funds. Emergency Home Repair*
Income LimitsEmergency Home Repair Grants are available to those households whose incomes do not exceed 50% of the Area Median Income. Deferred Loans at 0% Interest are available for Private Owner Rehabilitation assistance to those households whose income do not exceed 80% of the Area Median Income. 50% and 80% Area Median Income limits are listed below:
Terms and Conditions* Private Owner RehabilitationAssistance will be in the form of a 0% Deferred loan. This loan is not repaid until the homeowner sells, vacates, or transfers the title to the property. No interest will be charged and no monthly payments are required. Home maintenance counseling is provided. * Emergency Home RepairHomeowners receiving Home Repair assistance will receive a grant. Repayment is not required. |
