Welcome to City of Oregon Community

Our community is home to nearly 20,000 residents, and while we might be a small community, you’ll find a unique quality of life within our boundaries.

With a rapidly developing economy, new businesses in Oregon are thriving. Our older businesses are seeing success, too. In fact, several of the businesses in Oregon have been here since the community’s inception in 1838, and are still going strong.

Families and individuals wishing to live in Oregon can choose from a variety of housing arrangements to suit their needs from single family homes and duplexes to apartments, condos and more. Our diverse physical landscape is made up of densely populated areas, as well as acres and acres of wide-open land perfect for farming. Oregon is a great place to raise children, too. Our schools, both public and private, are among the highest-performing in the state.

Our location on the western shore of Lake Erie offers our residents access to fishing, boating, and a variety of other activities unique to lakeside living. And being close to Maumee Bay State Park and Maumee Bay Resort our community has easy access to camping, world-class golf, fine dining, and over 1,800 acres of nature and wildlife. Residents can also get up close and personal with nature, as well as enjoy paddle boating, biking, picnicking and fishing at Pearson Metropark. Our community also has two municipal parks: South Shore Park, which features a sledding hill, picnic area and fitness trail, and Coontz Park with eight lighted baseball fields.

Other recreational activities in Oregon include the annual German American Festival at Oak Shade Grove, which draws in more than a quarter million people from all over northwest Ohio, and OregonFest, a community event that draws over 10,000 people each year. Our older residents also enjoy socialization and recreation activities at the Oregon Senior Center.

Our proximity to the City of Toledo allows our residents convenient access to a world class museum, a top-ranked zoo, and a minor league baseball park, as well as a theatre stage and concert hall. We’re also just a short drive from Cedar Point Amusement Park, and only an hour away from Detroit’s concert venues and sporting events.

Out of town guests will find a comfortable place to lay their heads at any one of our hotels in price ranges to suit every budget. Hungry bellies can be satisfied by a variety of restaurants, and when you need a shopping fix, there are many stores to wander through.

We invite you to explore all that Oregon has to offer and discover what makes this City on the Bay a City of Opportunity for so many.
