FEMA's New Floodplain Maps are Available

The Lucas County Engineers have announced the release of FEMA's Preliminary Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM).  This map shows the flood hazard area displayed over an aerial photo, allowing for ease in determining whether your home is in or out of the floodplain.  This is a preliminary map and cannot be used for enforcement, regulation or insurance rating purposes.   If you want to see the current map contact Oregon's Floodplain Administrator, Jim Gilmore.   For more information, attend the Flood Risk Information  Open House.   

FEMA will present New Preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Lucas County on Monday, April 27, 2009

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will present the new preliminary Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Lucas County at a Flood Risk Information Open House on Monday, April 27, 2009 in the Grand Lobby of MLK Plaza, third floor of the (AMTRAK Train Station).  FEMA will meet with local officials at 1:00 pm, and the general public can view the preliminary maps from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm.  FEMA, ODNR and community officials will be present to answer questions regarding the new preliminary maps.
